Holy Mother of Leather Bags!

I think I died and came back to life when I saw these ridiculously amazing leather bags by Nutsa Modebadze!
She makes each bag with the MOST beautiful leather.
Nutsa designs all her bags with a such great sensitivity to all the leather she uses by truly celebrating it's texture, color & shape.

I literally spent HOURS clicking through EVERY single page looking at EVERY single thing...
And all these photos here are just a small tiny percentage of all the things she's ever made....

You can see all her latest work and her process on her blog...she's currently working on some wonderful woven leather stuff...I simply can't wait....
If only I could even just touch one of these bags...I would die a happy person.

Sweet Leather Sheos & Bags

I've always secretly fantasized about making my own leather sandals or shoes...the closest shoe-making I've done so far are some simple fabric slippers and this felt baby slipper. But seeing these handmade leather shoes and bags by Alya B. Kazakevich of ABK makes me want to just make some awesome leather shoes...but most likely it will not ever look as good as these! I'd like to covet one of these beautifully made shoes or bags especially for how incredibly made they are!

Totally Totes

Designer, Oscar Diaz recently launched and line of these totes called Glueline, made with canvas straps and bonded together with rubber at the points where the straps meet.

I really like the simple use of material and how the rubber functions both as the adhesive and also adds a decorative element to the bag.Ok, so this isn't one of those "perfect" bags with super high performance and function and has hundreds of pockets for anything you can think of or forget about...or one of those transformer bags where it goes from a purse, to a messenger bag, to a backpack, to a suitcase where you can carry things from books, to ipods and ipads, to a dog or a baby...

Nope, this bag does none of that....and that's perfectly okay! Its just a cool and simple bag for....ya know, the beach or the market!!
Actually..come to think of it, you could put a dog or a baby in a bag...and it would just be like a sling with their legs dangling out!
It's especially great for people like me who likes to organize things where I have smaller bags inside bigger bags or smaller boxes inside bigger boxes...and so on...
I hope I'm not the only one in the world who finds that somewhat satisfying....

Oh! Also another neat design by Oscar....An Ink Calendar! What the WHAT?!Pretty amazing...but if I had this in the house, I would just end up sitting in front of it and watching it and not get anything done...but I suppose that's no different than getting sucked into watching trashy reality shows ...oh, but they're so bad its gooood....

Get Dolled Up

I recently found this great bag company, Dolly Bags based in Amsterdam. They use fabulous colorful one-of-a-kind, retro/vintage fabric for all their bags. They're limited edition and handmade with TLC. Once they're gone...they're gone! I was looking at their etsy shop and found myself favorite-ing so many of them...it's a tough decision. ...And of course they have to make this adorable clutch to make my decision making process even more difficult!

New design bag series on R.E.Load

I've just got featured on R.E.Load as one of their custom designers! Theres's a funny photo of me cross-legged! But I'm actually glad they used that photo versus the ones of me standing....where I looked like I had super short legs....as if they're not already short enough! I didn't think they would post it on the main page. Luckily it's not permanent. Phew! I just can't stand being so famous! ugh!
....heh. :P
So, I've been working for R.E.Load bags for 2 and half years or so doing countless custom designs of my own and custom graphic upon people's request. R.E. Load is the messenger bag company that sells awesome build-your-own bike messenger bags and they're all handmade in Seattle & Philadelphia. You can read their blog about what I do there and the whole fixed gear/track bike culture that's exploding in every major city nowadays.
I'm not a total bike geek, but definitely has an appreciation for it and find this particular subculture really interesting. But apparently my Diagonal graphic is a big hit in Japan! It's pretty exciting. I think it's because of the hot pink and electric purple combo. They just LOVE crazy colors!
As you can see in the photo below with our dear friends and distributer in Japan, Seiya and his ADORABLE family in BRIGHT cheerful colors! We got to hang out with them at one of the major bike races in Philly and they're just the cutest family ever! I wanted to steal little Aika and Yume from their parents...but decided not to, since their parents would be sad.
Hope to visit them at some point. it's been more than 3 years since I've last took a trip to Japan. I miss it there. gotta save up!
